So I'm looking for tips and anyone that can help with advice. Here's the story moving to Florida but with moving the fish and corals are coming with me. So the first thing is I'm down sizing from my current setup. I got a frag tank that I'd b putting everything in. Fish and corals that I'm going set up and then b setting one up in Florida trying to cycle and everything while I take a trip down there. Hoping the apex will be able to take care of my things when I'm down there. Thinking about cycling the tank with zeo. So I'll b documenting everything if anyone is interested. But the reason I am posting I'm looking for tips and tricks if any our known. So 1st thing I'll b doing is putting my tank water in the frag tank and setup the holding system

Thanks in advance

frag tank up and cycling hopefully not long cycle used all my tank water and live rock

I'm not really sure what the question is or how long the move will be, however as long as you keep the LR alive with no die off, you should be fine setting up the new tank and put all livestock in right away.....I wouldn't use any old tank water. I would use 100% new water.....especially in a move, lots of coral slime and ammonia from fish.....just make sure to acclimate livestock to new water.

Thank you that's exactly what I'm looking for is tips and tricks to make it as smooth as possibly

Update
moved all corals to the 260 connected systems my pump went out temp dropped really low lost over half my ding dang and lady in pink and wd are tryin to recover. But the good news is that the frag tank looks like skipped the cycle since used same water and live rock with some new water. Temp was at 60 so raising that and testing one more time for any cycle. 260 and 220 look to b able to break them down really soon and moving all to frag tank

Sorry to hear that.... i keep a heater in my dt just in case that happens....

All right got my apex system on my little system and moving frags over let's see how this goes will update soon on how it all pans out.

Got all frags in to the frag tank

So far moves have been good

Ended up losing a couple frags in the last couple months I wouldn't blame that on the switch more on it just happens but now I'm in Florida and moved the cycled water into the tank and it looks like no ammonia and nitrate so will b adding them down here really soon hope this will go well

Being able to move and clean tanks and deal with cycle-causing details is a valuable art

Being able to skip cycles altogether is beyond handy in reefing this was nice timeline follow up from the start date of the move

Thanks for the kind words. I usually don't try to skip a cycle but I didn't have a choice on this go around

Forgot to post I used brightwell macro bacteria recommend by my local fish stores on establishing a good system once was cycled. also on the 15 with the water there were detectable nitrate and ammonia the very first couple hours and was gone about the next day probably from adding the sand.

Nothing worse than doing a tank move... I've done too many of them myself. Brightwell works pretty good. I used their products on my last move.
