Well I was awoken by a horrible smell. It was my tank... it crashed during the night. The only thing I can figure is hydrogen sulfide poisoning from the bio reactor. I pulled as many fish as i could and dumped them in fresh water then dosed the tank with h2o2. My solar wrasse is for sure a goner. He is just twitching. Likely will loose my mandys and ruby red. My regal tang is not looking well either. [emoji31]

so sorry!! any possible big water change options (who has made water ready when needed, not I)

So frustrating and disappointing, sorry. :(

That blows. I can't imagine most my fish have been with me longer than my 5 kids have. Good luck solving this

I have done a wc and I'm aerating the water. I moved the clown and cardinal back as the remaining tank inhabitants seemed to be doing better and I am worried about ammonia spike in the little qt. The wrasse and ruby red passed away but my little tang is up and swimming. I am just thankful I was home and that I woke up. It could have been much worse I think.

I am planning on removing the bioreactor for now as I obviously can't maintain it properly with my medical restrictions. I think it got clogged but because it is a recirculating model my fish "sitter" didn't realize the flow out was impaired. It must have then unclogged when the pellets dissolved enough.

We won't mention all the rock I moved or stretching I did as I was scrambling to get fish out... but since I'm generally relying on help from others until I heal I need to make things simple. Even if it means I start getting a bit of algea here and there.

So sorry to hear of that Naiad. I have seen you on here helping plenty of others. Hang in there.

Well clean up began today. My plate coral collection was destroyed. Xenia melted. I'm setting up a coral qt to try and bring some other badly damaged corals around. Will do another wc tomorrow to try and keep rock from going bad. Sigh. Not the way I wanted this to go

Baby blue passed this morning. She developed a secondary infection and I couldn't treat it until I had a new place for inverts. It was just a scratch but moved much faster than I expected. All other fish are fine. I think I'm over the worst.

Oh how awful. Im so sorry.

Its awful when the learning curves are so sharp.
Do you still think it was the bio reactor and H sulfide?

That is the only thing I can figure would make that smell...
