Hi, not sure if this is an ‘emergency’ but my Red Sea max 260 is not level :( I have added the water, rock and sand and has been cycling for around 6 days now, not sure if its acceptable to leave it as it is or drain and start again? The tank is slightly leaning forward and I believe this to be an issue with the floor. Any advice would be appreciated.

Karl.

The water in the top of the tank will be the determining factor. So long as it is contained within your tank when all powerheads are on at full tilt and no water sloshes out you should be alright. As well, as long as the floor is stable and not moving and the tank is level to the stand, you should be alright. The amount you are out of level is not that bad. On the other hand, if the floor has movement and/or water sloshes out, adjustments are recommended.

Thank you for the reply. Yeh no water sloshes out but I have oversized power heads for the tank I have on the 2nd setting out of 10, also what do you mean by full tilt? Sorry first tank so still trying to get to grips with it!

Full tilt = the highest flow settings you will ever have the powerheads and all water movers at.
BTW head on over to theMeet & Greet Forum and introduce yourself! Let me be the first to say Welcome to R2R!

I totally get it, I'm OCD about the level of my tank, so I used shims under the stand to bubble level it in both directions. Totally unnecessary, but yours looks close enough.

Get some plastic shims and level it. Go slow and give your floor time to settle. This takes me several days. I usually do it as I fill a tank and the weight adds up. but it should still work. I agree the tank will work without it, I just worry about uneven stress on the seams and joints. The smaller the tank the less I would worry.

+1 to this you look fine at that really

And also Welcome to R2R as well!

yea thats fine, but if its bothering you drain it now and use plastic shims, not wood, in case they get wet.
