My nitrate is reading 6.9 ppm on my reef tank
Alk is 7.4 phosphates 0.13
Salinity 1.025
How bad is 6.9 on nitrates and could it be the result of several fish dying in the past week?
also how do I raise my alkalinity?

No, nitrate at 6.9ppm is not known to cause any harm to the marine fish we tend to keep.

I’ve never had it read 6.9 before the last reading was 40.6 so I’m assuming that’s a good thing ?
Ideally what should I be wanting for a good nitrate reading ? My corals are doing well so I’m guessing not to worry ‍♀️
whay causes alkalinity to be a bit low ?
