I've been getting more into photography the last year and taking good pictures of the reef tank is pretty challenging for me, lol. I took a class on Lightroom editing a few weeks ago so I'm starting to get a little bit better but I still find capturing the color to be a challenge under blue lights.

I have an older Nikon DSLR that I'd love to upgrade next year but I'm waiting until I'm a little better at taking/editing photos since they're not exactly cheap. I took most of these with the kit lens, I usually go back and forth between that one and my macro lens. I'm getting better about getting corals in focus and adjusting exposure, shadows, etc. but I haven't really gotten the hang of getting the color right. I'm not really sure how to correct that in Lightroom and I'm still messing around with adjusting the lights while I'm taking pictures to make it easier. But I'm way better than I was six months ago, lol.

Nice shots

Why so dark? As far as color goes get the best color with the light on full actinic, Wb at 10,000K then some touchup in photoshop to counteract the blue a little more.

If you have photoshop, "Auto tone" would usually take care of the dark/blue.

I was curious and did one of yours in photoshop. It's a beautiful piece and shot!

I only have Lightroom : /

Going to mess around this weekend and see if I can get some better pictures.

Ended up taking more pictures tonight. I think these came out a little better.
