Hi all! So I have a 30G tank I have had up and running about a year and it is doing sooooo well. Corals are exploding with growth, no issues at all. I am setting up a new 120G tank in the next few months and will have it upstairs with a downstairs fishroom/sump. I am using a 110G rubbermaid as my sump. So I figured I would get a head start on my cycle before setting everything up.

I have 120 pounds of new rock in the rubbermaid with 15 pounds of rock from my 30g to seed. I set this up in December. I have protein skimmer, carbon reactor running on it. I have two mp40s in it. I just have everything in the rubbermaid, tank not set up yet.

So now on to my issue/question. I cannot get corals to open in this tank at all. From zoas to mushrooms to frogspawn. I know it is a realitivly new tank but I had corals in my 30g by this piont and they were open and looked awesome. Yes the nitrate cycle happened. My alk is 9, calc is 445, mag is 1390, 1.025sg, 78 degrees, 3 nitrate, .05 phos. Water is crystal clear.

I am super stumped as these corals have been in here for a good few weeks and not opening. Just seeing if I am overlooking something possibly. I never had these issues with my 30g. Thanks in advance!! :)

I don't think it's the flow. Around the same flow I have on them in my 30g. I have an AI prime running pirates schedule.
