Looking to purchase either a 150 (60 x 24 x 24) or 180 (72 x 24 x 24 ) Reef Ready Aquarium.

I've looked at Aqueon, Glass Cages, Planet Aquarium, and Custom Aquariums.

In your opinion is it worth spending the extra money to get the other brands over Aqueon?

Are there any options that I haven't looked at that would give me the best bang for the buck?

What are your thoughts on Deep Dimension tanks?

Thanks for your input/feedback! Dan

I picked up a 1/2” standard glass rimless 72” x 24” x 12” shallow frag tank, by Glass Cages. It it built like a tank (pun)! I have also reviewed their build-process videos, and my next tank will be by Glass Cages, that I can say. Best wishes.

The others are prettier.... I had an Aqueon that was a fine tank. I never had an issue. But I can tell you that the tank I got from Planet Aquariums is beautiful just buy itself. No water necessary.

Also, I have heard people talk poorly about class cages but I bought a 500 and 300 from them in the early 2000’s and they were beautiful tanks. Very well made.

It really depends on what you’re after. If all you want is something to hold water, get the Aqueon. If you want a little more (better glass, black seams, sleeker look, etc) and can pay a little more, go with one of the others. For what it’s worth, I understand the guy at Planet Aquariums worked for Waterbox for years before forming his own business. Planet Aquariums is a great value.
