I'm moving soon and wanted some input on using rack storage to stack a few tanks. I have several salt and fresh water tanks and was thinking about using a storage rack from home depot to stack 3 - 40 breeders. What would you guys put down on top of the wire to support the tanks, what would you recommend for a minimum distance between the top of the tank and the next shelf and just any general input from anyone has tried similar setup. I have 7 tanks total so stacking some is an interesting idea to me.

Plywood.
The space should fit you, if you are tall the first rack can be higher than one I might set up.
The lfs uses these. I would put a good coat of Rust-o-leum on them to hide the orange and to reduce oxidation.
Sump fits nicely underneath the lowest tank.
