Checkout @reefcleaners i don’t believe they keep fish.

What you are looking for will not likely be possible. Sorry. Even the few kinds of tank raised snails that do exist are not as good at eating algae as the other kinds. You are gonna have to QT or risk it.

yep.. that is what I thought.. I am QT 12 in a 20 gallon now.. its a bit risky to add to many.. once did 18 or so.. one dies and if not found right away.. chain reaction... death and more death..

You also have to have enough film algae for food, which can be hard in a small tank. QTing inverts is no easy tank.

yep.. nori sheets are not easy to feed.. i had to ruberband them to the rocks..

Yea... I'm like... I got some baby trochus about half the size of a dime but I doubt that's mature enough (plus they're hard to find at that size lol). Wonder how I can encourage trochus to breed more often...? The babies take a long time to get to size (at least mine are) but WOW do they do a great job, they're so small they can get EVERYWHERE

AlgaeBarn is the best source. Sign up for an alert and order them as soon as they are available. Even then, I’d still quarantine for 45 days and you’ll probably need to do multiple orders since they never seem to have Trochus and Ceriths at the same time.

I have tons of baby trochus as well. Last time I witnessed a spawn was after a large wc. I'm thinking that maybe the wc water being slightly warmer may have triggered it. Just a guess though

Vivid has trochius but they’re in their systems. I’ve ordered them for years and never had a problem.

Thanks guys. It’s all
About the ick. Issue. I have had two wipe outs over the past 20 years. Now everything wet is Qt. Too much to lose

I breed margarita snails in my tank. I have hundreds but it is not fishless.
You must run your tank pretty cold? Margaritas don't usually last more than a year in our warmer tanks (at least in my experience). I keep my tank at 78.5

I would contact John at reefcleaners.com and ask how they keep their snails. I am pretty sure their snails are wild caught but I have never seen fish on their site so they may well be in a fishless tank. John is very easy to talk to and super honest so just ask him.

Nope run my tank at 78 and they spawn and breed like crazy. They've bred in this tank for going on 10 years.
