So...
My current tank is struggling a bit. I think I am just moving into a bit of a different phase of my life. For reference, I have had reef tanks dating back to 04. Current tank is a 155g DSA pro that was SPS heavy, grown out from frags.

In 2018 our first son was born. I struggled with keeping up with the tank when he was a newborn. I lost some colonies, but I got things back in order for the most part. Made some changes without really thinking it through...and that cost me some more.

Fast forward to now, and our service was born mid Dec. Things were actually doing pretty well. But I had been a lacks with water changes. Lost or am losing my large Cali tort and my Undata is looking rough.

I think I am at a point where I am looking to simplify things.

Current setup is:
ATB 840v2 skimmer
Dosing ATI essentials
Run GFO
Change 10% weekly (at least that is the idea)

I guess what I am wondering is, is there a better way?
I am not sure if dosing 2 part makes sense for an SPS tank of this size. Will it be better with LPS/ zoa dominated tank?
Is a big skimmer high turnover through a BB sump still the best option?
I am considering moving to a fuge, but not sure if I have the space to get a big enough fuge. Seems like that could be more simple approach?
Any chance just water changes or kalkwasser dosing would be a good plan to manage alk & CA on a tank this size that was LPS/zoa?

I am planning on taking my sump offline just so I can clean it, and clean it my overflow. Would like to take that time to re-plumb things as well.

Curious also what people would consider a good setup for wave makers for a tank this size(72x24x21). Have Wavs on my apex.think they were fine before things grew out, but now I feel like they aren't as effective.

This is the last good pic of the tank. Looks a bit different currently.
