Hi all,
looking for a 400 litre (106 US gallons) tank with sump.

Have nearly 5 foot of space what do you all recommended don't want to spend to much.

Thanks in advance

@Ash321 , it would help if we knew where you're from.....I'm assuming some foreign land, with your use of "litre." In the States, we say liter. :D

If you are here in the States, and looking for bargain stuff, I'd suggest Craigslist.

Sorry forgot to say I live in the UK. And really price wise I'm not to sure probally $700 Maybe more

Just for the tank and sump, right? Not the rest. Are you you saying total build $700, I think that will be difficult for a 120.

Yeah just the tank and sump I'm not that ambitious lol this is my 3rd or 4th marine tank

I have to defer to someone from the UK. Not sure what it will cost to ship, let alone what products are there locally. Maybe get a package deal from a LFS.

I'm totally ignorant of the world....but do you have a craigslist type sites in the UK? If you are unaware, this is a website where folks can sell almost anything (that's legal), typically for a good price. It differs from ebay in that it's local and free.

EDIT TO ADD: I just looked it up and you do have Craigslist in the UK......check it out HERE.

SECOND EDIT: Out of curiosity I just did a search in the London area for both "fish tank" and "aquarium" and found nothing. Must not be as active as it is here in the States.

Generally speaking, 4 foot tanks are cheaper and more available on the used market than 5 foot tanks. Also generally speaking, quality used stuff is a good way to go. Other than this, I do not know anything about how to get a quality used stuff in the UK.

Thanks for the replies sorry I fell asleep lol.

I didn't know we had craigslist we generally use a site called gumtree basically the same also ebay is good for collection only .

Part of me thinks find a pre owned tank but then again they are always scratched and it's disappointing when you fill them up

Sometimes the search for a good used tank takes longer than cycling a tank with dry rock :). You have to stay on the hunt and be ready to see it and buy fast when it’s a good one.

I saw a red sea 350 reefer tank on ebay looked perfect had buy it now £450 but it's 5.5 hours drive away ;Rage so probally not going to be able to make that drive so the search continues! Is the reefer a good set up or no?

In general, yes. Depends on condition of tank, stand and what else comes with it. But the tanks and stand are very nice.

"Red Sea reefer 350 full marine setup evergrow 5080i lighting system bubble Magnus c5.5 curve protein skimmer nitrate reactor phosphate reactor return pump all pipe work sump supplied buy Red Sea wave maker loads of extras to many to list whole set up cost about £3000 no fish included" looks tidy in the pics to but yeah to far away think maybe something similar would suit me

If I had a way to transport it, it may be worth the drive. I would not want fish or live rock anyway... Easier to transport.

Yeah livestock always a pain to move around. As far as live rock been thinking of getting a couple of boxes from Fuji any thoughts

Have sent them a email see if they ship to the UK also if they do will have to pay an extra 20% tax though
They have great customer service and will probably work w/ you, also watch the deal of the day, often around the size you are looking for, usually at a pretty good break that might even out shipping cost some.
