I am doing my first tank reseal (40B I will be adding glass baffles to for a sump).

I have been over all the old silicone with a new razor blade 3 times and have painter tape to use for a clean line on the edges of my new silicone.

But what are you guys using to clean before you put the new silicone down? Anything else I am missing or tips?

hi rubbing alcohol

fill er up test before you put in baffles

sorry imo i would never reseal or buy a resealed tank, even holding reef ,walk away from them, not worth the worry

All cleaned with rubbing alcohol.

I appreciate the feed back but I really don't see much difference between revealing a tank and a new tank if it is done properly. I would worry less doing the reseal then buying a used tank and just filling it. .

I agree with you. It's not magical, or rocket science. Glass - silicone - bond. Simple.

I figure like most things when doing it yourself. Research, prep, research, and then complete. And I am always looking to learn something a try to do something new
