Hi everyone.
After purchasing a tank last week I have been looking into what piping I will need to replace.
I immediately saw the gate valve was made of solid brass and knew I would have to replace that and a few more things.my question is about the inlet for the return pump. It is in a very odd location in the middle of the tank and I am wondering how I should pump it any help is appreciated.

A Seaswirl would work well on a center return. There are also copied that rotate more the 90 degrees although they anr not nearly as reliable.
Hi that would be great but way too expensive for me ATM I am just thinking of using PVC pipe to the water's surface (so I don't need a check valve) and then just have a 90° pipe to direct the flow. My issue is I don't know how I would go about attach the pipe to the bulkhead made to have soft tubing attached?
Sorry if this sound a bit silly.

Honestly, I would cover that hole with a piece of 1/4" glass 4" x 4" and never use it.

Do your return over the back of the tank.

That is a disaster waiting to happen in my opinion.
