Since the swap to the 40 my tank has been running hot. I have a Coralife digital thermometer and it's high, in the 83-85 degree range. I've turned my heater off and it's still in the 80-82 degree range. Any tips? To get it down some.

Get a good thermometer those coral life are crap....
I had a bunch of them for my brood stock tanks and they all read different and some were way apart. Not even close to each other.
They see the small clip on fans for aquariums but one of the larger ones sold at like target or wall mart really work better.

80 to 82 aint bad really... I used to keep my tanks at that for years. What scares me is most of those coral-life digis run way low so you might be hotter.
I have fan pointed at my sump on a controller and are set to come on at 82.
I think it's my skimmer causing the issues. It's a deltec ap600.

Those use a aquabee pump I believe and they run pretty cool and are really reliable unless something is wrong with it.
Agree with the others the coralife thermometers are garbage. The two I have had read 6 degrees higher than a mercury thermometer.
Hey I never ended up using that one that I got from you. Its just sitting in the closet. Call me if you are interested in it.While I'm out today I'll grab one. My old one got busted in the move.
