I just posted this in my tank thread but thought this was a better place for it.

https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/my-135-rimless-updated-with-new-led-build.29248/

Bad news!
Last week a front silicone seal on this tank failed dumping about a hundred gallons of saltwater on my living room floor.
Almost everything lost, I may save a couple of my fish and a coral or two that were on the very bottom of the tank but everything else is gone.

The tank was set up early in 2009. I waited to update this thread until I had an opportunity to speak with someone at glass cages

I have been calling them since it happened and finally got a chance to speak to a manager. She told me that because this tank is more then six years old they will not warranty or compensate me in any way.
I tried to explain to her, that when someone spends this kind of money for a custom made tank, they are relying on a certain amount of confidence that they have with that the company they are purchasing from. I thought they would stand behind their product and the quality of their workmanship.

Am I wrong to think that glass cages should warranty this tank at least to some degree even after this amount of time?

I guess I expected this tank to last a lifetime,
Not so much...

My heart goes out to u, that's a terrible situation and is a constant fear among hobbyist I'm sure... I don't think I have heard of companies warranting there tanks past 3 years .... Total bummer , best of luck...

I had a seal failure after about 4 years.
come to find out the tank was not evenly level and stressed the silicon.
dumped about 25 gallons on my floor. Took the day off from work. Transferred everything into my storage container.
cleaned the tank up and resealed it.
I trust my own work and stabilized the tank more.
2 years later and still keeping my fingers crossed.
it sucked for sure but when you seal your own tank there is much more confidence
