I have a glass 90 gal Aqueon reef ready mega flow aquarium. It's about 2 years old. Recently, I had a GFCI issue while we were away on vacation and lost everything in my tank. I was cleaning out the muck and nasty stuff when I noticed the tank seam are discolored. The caulking is starting to turn brown on the edges and in the back corner towards the bottom the whole way through the glass. The discoloration is on both sides of the caulk which to me is indication of a chemical reaction and possibly a material compatibility issue. The discoloration seems to match the water level of the tank and gets "worse" towards the bottom of the tank.

Has anyone had this issue, or is this even an issue? I'm hesitant to put water back in if there's a chance of failure. Killing off everything in my tank was bad enough I don't think I (or my marriage) could take dumping 110+ gallons of water on the floor.

I don’t know what would cause that, but I personally wouldn’t risk it. Could you have someone recaulk the tank? Sorry you lost everything.

I’ve startec to get over the losses. It just ticked my off I finally had this thing running well then everything gets wiped out. Oh well.
There is supposed to be a lifetime warranty from Aqueon (which auto corrects to Sauron FYI not sure that’s a good sign). I will see what they have to say I guess.
