Last couple of weeks, I’ve noticed maybe a dozen or so specs of m, I’m assuming is zooxanthellae organisms.

I was just able to shut the power heads off and suck one up in a pipette.

This photo, taken with an iPhone 8 and clip on macro lens, was about 2mm in length.

Any thoughts on what it may be? I have frogspawn, hammer and elegance LPS. Could one of them actually spawned?

I have no idea. It kind of looks like popcorn. Once it gets a little bigger maybe you can tell. That would be cool if one of those spawned in your tank.

Could be this or a polyp drop and regrow...
I had a blasto spawn once, I will embed a video of what I saw in action, half way through the video it appears to be blowing smoke, unfortunately the spawn was happening under actinics only, and it was latish at night, grabbed my phone and shot video at tail end of spawn.
Not saying that your LPS you have spawn this way, but just what I observed with blastos.
Did you see the spawn, or just the remnants of what could have been? Either way, very cool of you taking the time to post either way, perhaps some experts will see this thread and chime in. Cheers :)

Very cool video. I watched several snails doing this a few days ago. My fish camped out right beside them and were gulping down every puff they put out. I would assume they would do the same if a coral was doing it. Did your fish take notice?

This was years ago, and spawn happened late, most fish were not out swimming, from what i recall. But, i know my sps in my old system loved stomatella spawns, lol. I did notice other corals having increased pe, for what it is worth :)
