Tank start up cloudy water..

Hey Guys I started up my nuvo 25 lagoon ext last night and I purchased sand from a company called APurpleReef and I’m an idiot and didn’t rinse how long do you think my water will be cloudy for ?

Is the sand live sand?
If so you dont ever rinse live sand,

Give it couple days at most and it will clear up, usually sand storms clears up with in a day or two

Is it a brand new system? Or did you take water from other tank (buddy, your other secret tank??) Jc

Well I believe it was live at one point , here’s my other question I don’t have an actual “filtration” System on the tank yet so.. will the water still clear.. and it was fresh salt water lol

The particles will settle, but if you have filter floss or a filter sock running it will happen faster.

You should get a cheap HOB for the time being and run filter floss as stated above

The sand will settle down, but it still might be a bit hazy

I have my sump and plumbing done just no baffles or anything but I might go to petsmart and get some filter pads and put them in front of my intake for my return and in front of the weir

Just make sure it doesnt get clogged up or something
