hey folks,
Something in my tank is off and im trying to figure out what.
I had exams last week and ive been really busy for the last to months because of that. I did basic maintenance but didnt have quite asmuch time for the tank as i used to.
In that time some kind of slimy algae started building up in the tank. I wasnt worried at all since i expected it to be some kind of cyano because my di-resin had to be changed.
After i did so the algae didnt go away immediatly but i didnt expect that anyways so i just waited.
About 2 weeks ago i noticed my 2 main returnpumps in my AIO that are responsible for about 80% of total watermovement in the tank were dead. Turned out they were clogged to a point where they did not work at all.
I luckily fixed the issue but am now dealing with its consequences.
I lost 3/4 of my acroporas aswell as my big frogspawn and a hammer. Montiporas and seriatoporas(birdsnest) look bad.
I have this red slimy algae all over the tank also covering some sps.
Might be dinos but i have no microscope to confirm.
I allways had a lownutrient system but did measure nitrates at 2-5 everytime aswell as being able to get a read on phosphates. (With my nyos test kit i cant get exact readings but i had 0,05-0.1 every time i checked.
Lastly i dont have a dosing pump. Im dosing calcium and kh manually.
All parameters were pretty good every time i checked at kh from 7-9 and cal at ~400 and mg being at 1450 (my magnesium was alleays really high even tough im only dosing bio calcium)
I would appreciate someone experienced looking onto this with me because im really struggling to get a hang of what i should be doing right now.
Tank is 65g AIO mixed reef with 2 clowns and a dwarf moray.
