Hello all,
I'm getting ready to swap all my livestock into a new tank this weekend. The new tank (Biocube 32) has all new rock and sand. I added 1 bottle of Turbostart and 1 bottle of Seed bacteria a little over 2 weeks ago. How worried should I be with putting all my livestock in at once? List below. I plan one testing for ammonia every day for at least a week or two.

2 Colowns 1 2" and 1 1 1/2"
1 Small yellow clown gobby
1 Sixline
1 Royal Gramma
1 Cleaner shrimp
1 Fire Shrimp
1 Peppermint shrimp
Snails and crabs

Thanks all!!

Hard to say definitively without adding ammonia and seeing if it processed away in a day. You didn't happen to buy a bottle of ammonia along with the Turbostart and bacteria starter did you?

If not, it's likely ok. If possible, I'd add the CUC (or most of them) and a clown (maybe both). Wait a day or two or three and see if any ammonia is detectable, if not or if it's minimal and you can manage, then proceed with remaining.

If that's not possible (two tanks isn't feasible for everyone), then as long as you're testing and ready for water changes, it will be fine. Having Polyfilter on hand is also a good insurance policy as well.

Good luck.

I have always ghost feed when I started my tanks and have been fine. I did the same with this one and had a small amount of ammonia after day 2. Day 3 was undetectable. I will be testing like crazy and have a large supply of new mix saltwater ready. I added 1 snail 3 days ago and he has been fine, just looking for food...
