hey everyone question. I have marine Velvet in my tank. Should I tear it down and start over or leave it fallow?

depends on the tank. You could start over, but if it's just some dry rock and sand you can remove those and treat the tank with copper. If that isn't practical than tearing down and completely draining it and cleaning it with bleach would also be another option

It’s dry rock that was cured and it’s bare bottom tank I have a couple corals not much tho

Remove any fish and run it fallow for a few months. I think it's like 72 days or something for velvet/ich to run full life cycle without fish hosts.

Sorry about the troubles.

Evening

This is just my opinion,

I would tear down and restart, unless it’s a big tank. Smaller tank and lighter stocking would be easier to clean and sterilize. Bleach or acid wash and re-cure the rock. Then you can dip and Qt the coral and live stock. Don’t have to worry about using copper, and possibility of any velvet survived small.
