Tank temp unstable, cooling options?

Cooling coils work great if you have an RO, plumb the waste water through one of these and put in sump. Just make sure it’s no reactive metal or make a plastic one. I used similar things for years as a grower.

If you go with a chiller you can get away with the JBJ 1/5hp. Keep in mind a chiller will pull all the heat out of the water and then transplant it in the room. In effect causing more heat in the room which in turn will heat the tank faster. This is why I have an outdoor chiller on my tank. Also a dehumidifier will do the same. They use a ton of power and create heat.

I use a tower fan blowing into my sump cabinet (it also keeps the door propped open to let fresh air constantly circulate). My second option (more noticeable) would be clip-on fans as suggested above. A bigger clip-on on either side of the tank blowing towards the center should cool you down 2* easy.

2 degree fluctuations daily and what is evaporative cooling? :)
2 degree is reasonable. My tank run between 78-80 and it dropped and rise all day long. Fans comes on at 80F and shuts off at 78F. Summer heat here in the desert is crazy. I just use a fan bought from walmart for $15. It is a sps dominant tank.

I use this, works like a charm, dropped 1 degree no problem. Cheap too. You could also open your sumps doors for more airflow.

Beautiful tank! How fast does it cool? My issue is that it takes a long while for it to go down like a day as oppose to hours or so... aswell how high is that t5 fixture?
