so i recently installed a uv sterilizer on my 125 reef tank. sense adding it iv had to unplug one heater and now iv even drop the temp on the heater still working to the lowest it possibly can. my tank seems to be riding between 79-80 F at the most 81. i know this is high for most reefers but i see some people talking about keeping tanks higher than that. i havent noticed anychange in anything in the tank. is this temp a bad thing? will there be any adverse affects or long term if i keep it where its at. i really cant afford a chiller right now.

I keep my tank at 82-84 and it is fine. Just need to keep in mind that water will hold less dissolved O2 in higher temps. So if you have a blackout you will need to get the water moving again quicker. As long as it is in the right range keeping a stable temp is more important IMO than what temp it is. Swings are damaging.
