So, my 90g corner bowfront w/ 20 has been setup for a year now with the following inhabitants:
2 clowns
1 six-line wrasse
1 yellow tang
1 tuxedo urchin
Snails (many)
2 emerald crabs

I’m currently battling green hair algae but it is coming under control, albeit slowly. I have next to no coralline algae, should I get a bottle of something to kickstart this? If so, any specific brand suggestions?

Also, fish suggestions. What are some good fish to add to the tank? Planning on LPS corals and maybe an anemone at some point. I do have GSP’s that are doing well and some mushrooms.

Any help is appreciated!

There are places that sell "plates" with coralline growing upon them.

Do you like blue colored fish? I have a small group of Blue Sapphire Damsels in my tank. Peaceful. And they stay smallish, about 2" or so. A small group of them is fun to watch.

I love my Valentini puffer. Peaceful and fun to watch. It always looks like it is in deep thought. As for coralline, i had some in my tank for awhile and some on the rocks but I think between my snails and my tang nipping and stuff on the rock it never gets really going before it is picked off. I am not complaining, it is a pain to scrap off the glass.

I may get some damsels, but looking at some other options.

Question about your valentini puffer, what do you feed yours and how often? I’ve never had puffers because I thought they would be difficult to feed.

Mine eats frozen food and enjoys once or twice a week mussel I throw in the tank for everyone to feast on.

The Valentini's teeth are not too bad but I make sure I squirt some food into the rock near him so he has to dig it out to eat and the seems to keep the teeth in check.

I was looking at gobys before I got the wrasse and I may get a puffer if they aren’t difficult to keep. I have plenty of snails in the tank, so he’ll have some extra food and a good supply of pods I keep stocked in the tank. Do they move rock? 90% of my rock is large and it’s sturdy, but not glued together.

Had to re-home my favorite fish, a Blue Spot Puffer, when it suddenly developed a taste for my LPS. Bad day. It was amazing the damage it did in just one morning of coral munching. And it had plenty of dwarf ceriths to feed on. And I fed it frozen half clams regularly. Bad day. It was like kicking one of your kids that you really loved out of the house.
