I just got a planet Aquarium it has two 1inch drains and two 3/4inch returns,.
I only want to use 1 of the drains for the drain and the other as just a back up emergency drain. But in my head…. two 3/4 in returns is more water then the one 1in drain can handle.
so do I need to make the returns 1/2in to even that out?

I know there are much smarter people then me on here so thank you for the help in advance!!

You dial your return pumps to where you need it(if your return pump is adjustable) also your main drain should have a gate valve to adjust the water flow to help quite down everything and also help match the return pump… meaning slow down the drain to match the returns

Ok I was going to put a gate on it and the are Neptune pumps I just wanted to make sure it was ok before plumbing, I just couldn’t wrap my head around two 3/4 fitting into a single 1 in lol
Thank you
