Hi just a question about your sand. Right now i have nothing in the tank i'm just restating my tank, in cycle, and with new pumps Tunzes. The flow of water is creating ridges and little mounts that i find kind of interesting to look at and actually tells me where the water flow is going and where a possible coral could go. Should change my pump positions to avoid these, and flatten the sand again, or is it ok to leave them?
Thanks for your time.

Tank 150 G 6' long X 24"X 21"
4 tunze powerheads 2 at each end.

If the sand is not blowing around, myself I would leave it alone. Possibly post a picture so that we could see what you have going on:)

I have a nano and I too get those ridges, but after a little while they do smooth out. Well, my clowns smooth them out lol. If it is too much where it is making deep pits in your sand then divert the flow by point it to some LR.

I figure as soon as i add stuff in the flow will change again. My pistol shrimp should love this lol and my banded goby as well .

I like it!

My tank has a stupid amount of flow and my Tropic Eden Reeflakes (much larger grain size than you have there) migrate around like that constantly. I spread my sand back out at least once a day. It keeps it moving and not stagnant, I also consider the task very "zen" and relaxing. Just don't let it bury any of your corals :)
