I have had a blue tang in qt for over 2 months and was using cuprion at a level of
.25 and still have ich so I am trying this method now with 5 gallon buckets. If you could weigh in on if you have used this method and your thoughts it would be greatly appreciated?

5 gallon buckets? That seems a bit small to house a fish for 4 days no? 2 ten gallon tanks might be suitable, 20 gallon would be better. I use 30 gallon rubbermade totes which is fine for a few fish at a time. As long as you have suitable biological filters and heaters and sterilize in between you can use just about anything that is suitable size wise.

.25 cupramine isn't going to be an effective amount. You need .5-.55 IMO, but certainly over .4PPM

Agreed. This is why you still have ich.... getting your copper levels to the correct therapeutic range for 30 days should take care of that for you. Of course, TTM is a good alternative as well!

I am also using brightwell cuprion. So from what I read .25 should have worked.

I thought about buying one of these but I just feel like I am very frustrated because the one time I am trying to do the right thing. I feel like I can not get it right. But I am working towards it.

Oh, there's a learning curve for sure. Try not to worry, at least you can still make adjustments now in QT.
