@mcs Is the cleaner shrimp picking things out of his gills or just inside the mouth? If the latter, he is probably just eating/cleaning his teeth. Koles are bristletooth tangs after all. :D

Dog walker tells me that my kole ate well at noon. Seemed excited by the brine. Came out of hiding for it.

The shrimp does not seem to be cleaning the gills just the mouth. Thank you for your help!

Cleaning behavior has decreased significantly so I have not been able to get video. Kole is eating a little more enthusiastically each day. Thank you for your help!

kole.png kole2.png I am afraid I do not have good news. Yesterday the kole hid a bit more than his usual and did not eat well. This morning I found him lethargic and pale. While I was setting up a tank for treatment, he died. This is a picture. I did not notice the white patches until after he died. Not sure what I should have done differently The OT tank has both an ammonia alert Seachum and a seneye - both still do not register a problem. Poor little guy. Feel awful.

Fortunately he was alone in the ot. Should I leave the ot fallow for a period of time before getting another fish?

45 days fallow would starve out everything, except for this one oddball strain of ich. You would need to go fallow for 76 days to also account for that.

My husband and I have been going over everything trying to figure out what went wrong. In retrospect it seems that our little kole spent a long period of time not eating. We had a friend who knows the staff at the fish store speak with them again, and it seems that he did eat in the store, but only caulerpa. (we got a little different story when we were at the store, they did feed for us, and he seemed to come out eagerly). We wonder if the stess of the transfer method was too much?

I've done many TTMs, and IME any "stress" from the process wears off after the first transfer or two.
