OK I have currently a 75 gallon reef tank with 20 refugium tha thas been up and running for over 10 years. Here is my question I have just purchased a Red Sea Peninsula 650 and want to transfer all habitats, rock, and sand to new tank. Inhabitants are 3 BTA, 4 Clownfish, watchman goby, Flame Angel, mushrooms, and various corals. I was planning on use Dr. Tim's All in one conditioner, with some new sand and dry rock. How long do you think I have to keep my fish and inverts out of the new tank or can I drop them right in since I am using Dr. Tim's One and Only. Research says I can drop in right away after cloud disappears but I am getting conflicting opinions from various folks. Open for suggestions . :)

if you use some of the old tank water you can do so straight away. As long as you are using the old rock

this is a thread doing many times over your job. To transfer cloud is to risk doom. Use all new water and skip cycle it this way:

Yes I was planning on uisng teh 75 gallons, sand and most of the rock from the old tank. Then use new water to make up the rest of the water

The real key is that sand, only re install 100% cloudlessly rinsed sand for the gold start
