Tank Upgrade and Well Water

I am upgrading my tank and will be using well water that has a whole house filter on it. Since I have never used well water in any tank I have ever owned is their anything special I need to do in order to transfer over all of my livestock and etc. for the new setup? My toadstool already took a dump on me and so all I have left to move over is my rock, peppermint shrimp, pistol shrimp, ricordea, watchman goby, and clownfish. In addition I need to scrub my rocks good so that I don't transfer any Algae over to the new tank that I have been battling. All help is welcomed on this matter.

You really need to have that water tested before using it can possibly contain all kinds of nasty stuff. Best to run it through a ro before using. It could have nitrates, phosphates or other harmful things in it.

I am on well water and i would never put it in my tank without going thru my RODI. My TDS averages ~300 out of the tap.

Most whole house filters do nothing for removing dissolved solids, they are there to remove particulates or silt and possibly have some carbon for taste and odor. You need to be concerned with the dissolved, small stuff that they do not address.

All true. My well water is so full of nitrates I can't even use it for a fish only without filtration.

Back home my well water was disgusting, was so nasty it would clog my ro/di before I got 50 gallons out. At that point buying Ro water was more efficient.
