I have a 243lt marine with 1 porcupine puffer & 1 snowflake eels, both have been in here for about 8 months as a grow out, now its time to move everything, but face a problm, the tank they are in is not a sump tank, but is filtered by a fluval fx6 with octo hang on skimmer and live rock
The new tank is a red sea 5tf 525 with all the trimmings, now I intend to move the bio media from the fx6 into the sump with a small pump just enough to keep the flow through the bio media, the live rock will be put into the new tank along with the water, this is where I face a problem and need advise (if what my intentions are so far ok) it works out that I'll be 243ltr short of filling the new tank,
Q if I have 243ltr on stand by,ready salted and temperature the same, can I add that stright to the new tank to make up the short fall, I hope without causing to many problems. If things work out I'm hoping to do the exchange this weekend, or do I need to cycle the new tank first

Thanks for that , adding something like Bio-Spira didn't even cross my mind, so thanks for the heads up on that one

Should I add bio spira for the whole tank or just the 243ltr
