I currently have a 120 gallon tank withabout 10 fish in it with overflow box, sump, etc! Someone gave me a 120 drilled tank that I want to switch out with my current tank. My question is: will this many fish be ok in a 29 gallon? And if so, How much time would I have to do the swap? Next question: if all my rock want fit in the 29 (which I'm sure it want) how can I keep it alive tilim through with the move?

Here is a list of my fish:

You can use buckets or totes. Fwiw, i moved an established 75g reef 120miles. Broke tank down the morning of the move. I put everything in buckets and totes and hit the road. Took the opportunity to thoroughly rinse the substrate in multiple buckets, and put everything together. Corals and fish were in their temp homes for over 8 hours, with no losses, although my fish are healthy and hardy, and most of my coral is "easy to keep"

Mine is going to be more like a week. I will have to get everything out of this tank into the temporary 29 gallon. Then plumb to and from sump and everything on the new 120 before I'll be able to move them back into a 120.

I didnt experience any noticeable ammonia spikes, but test often or get an ammonia badge. Keep a bottle of prime handy. Also air pumps to keep the water moving will help.

If you can divide them up with totes as suggested, you should definitely be able to manage for a week or 2 until everything gets situated with the new setup.
