Alright so I currently have a 100 gallon system up and running for 2 years. I just picked up a 210. I won’t be setting it up and doing the transfer until after Christmas most likely.

I will probably add about 75 pounds of rock to what I already have in the 100 gallon when I transfer to the 210. My question is.... can I cycle the rock in a brute can after I cure it? Was just thinking I could do that so the rock is ready to go when I do the tank transfer. Possibly avoid a cycle in the 210 if I have all the rock going in fully cycled already. I would do a fishless cycle with ammonium chloride. Just add some each week or so to the brute to keep the bacteria fed.
Thoughts?

Yeah you can. In fact I would highly recommend it if using dry rock. Clean it really well. Put in bins of saltwater with some MB7 or Bio Spira to seed it and let it cycle, cure and cook until you are ready to use it.
