So I just got a new tank and was thinking of rescape with new dry rocks. What would be the safest way to transfer my current stock to the new tank?

I guess that I will have the "ugly stage" again beacuase of the new rocks, Dont really mind that but do you think I could speed up the process by adding my old rocks in the sump?

How would you guys do it?

Im in no kind of rush, just want to do it as safely for the fish and coral as possible

Current stock

2 clown
1 goby
1 pistol shrimp

11 heads of euphyllia
1 small candy cane
1 elegance
3 plugs with acans

I would put the old rocks in the sump so you don't loose that good bacteria/microfuana/sponges, you will probably still have somewhat of a ugly phase.

thought so aswell but do you think I could move my stock right away with some bacteria booster or should I cycle the new tank with the new rock for a month then move the old rock to the sump with the live stock?

If your in no rush move out your rock slowly and put in a storage container with water and heater and power head keep closed so you can get rid of algae and then can go anywhere dt or sump aNd you keep all of your good bacteria

just keep the fish in the old tank with sand?

If you use your old rock, whether in the tank or sump, you won't have to cycle the tank, as the bacteria will already be there. Same thing if you even just used the same old filter media with such a small bioload. Should be good to go.
