Looking for a recommendation , right now I have a 90 gallon reef but am looking to upgrade to 24 inch deep just for aquascaoibg purposes .... what do you guys recommend . I’m looking at either a sca 100g which is 48x24x20 or a 120 48x24x24 .... I won’t need to upgrade any equipment do the minor difference in price is a non issue ... I’m also considering a 150 60x24x24

Go for the 60 inch. That length makes a huge difference if you're going to have any active fish. If you have the space, consider a 180. 72x24x24.

First I would say buy the largest that you can fit or afford, whatever comes first lol.

And if it’s for aquascape purposes, what kind of layout are you looking for? It’s mainly about floor space, my tank is 72x20 on the floor and 30 tall so I have 150 gallons but I’m very limited as to what I can do with my scape because I have to build higher rather than spread it out down low. So I would say go with whatever gives you the most surface area on the bottom of the tank to make your scape. If it were my choice it would be between the 120 and 150. Getting the extra 20 gallons of water out of 4 inches of hight is a pretty easy decision.

The space or weight isn’t an issue , it’ll be in my finished basement ... my only concern with that big of a tank is if probably have to upgrade equipment .... here’s what I have now for equipment so I’m pretty confident this would work for the 120 or even possibly 150 ... 180 may just be a much bigger expense as far as new equipment go

Trigger emerald 34 sump
48 giesemann spectate 2 mh 4t5
2 mp40
1 mp10
Reef octo dc return
Aquamaxx em200 skimmer

All of that should work, the skimmer May be a bit undersized but it also depends on your bio load.

I’m worried I’d have to upgrade my lights with a 72 long .... I may opt for the 15o 60inch long

Yea the 48 probably would leave a lot of tank without coverage in the 60. You could always just buy another 12in light and mount it next to it instead of buying the 72 and having 6 inches stick over each side.

Any other opinions are much appreciated... as of right now looks like I may be going with the sca 150 ... 60x 24x24
