Hi everyone! I have a 75g that’s been up n running for about 8 months (only fish with no corals) now and in pretty good shape.
Recently I bought a Red Sea 525 (139g total with sump) tank is almost ready to go now.

Question is:

Can I transfer everything that’s in the old tank, top off with new water, transfer all the liverock, fish and pour a bottle of turbostart 900 and get it going?

Will also be using new live sand but will seed it with a little from the old tank.

Also, I would skip buying live sand and get dead. Rinse the dry sand out really well. With what your adding the dead/dry sand will be live in no time. IMO

Absolutely the way to go. Clean the existing sand with existing or new saltwater until it is no longer dark. Do your transfer method and add Stability or whatever brand you prefer for about a week depending on which you use.

The LS will just be in a new upsized vessel with what equates to a good water change when you add new with existing water and or sand. I can do the process in a day for a change out with no cycle at all and any of us can. The LS will be happy and safe. Enjoy.

I wrote a lengthy tank transfer method years back and would be more than happy to attach, but honestly you are on the correct path anyway and may not need to see my notes which I've done countless times with many of my tanks as well as helping local nerds like us do it and have never had an issue.

That's exactly what I planned to do when I find my new tank, shouldn't have much of a cycle at all and everything will be happy. Congrats on the new tank!

Yes you can do that. I would seed it with biospiria or Dr Tims one and only.
Already have the Fritz turbostart in the fridge waiting but thanks

Sounds perfect! Congrats on the Red Sea
Thank You I can't wait, that thing is a work of art and got me an apex to go with it, this is gonna be so much fun

Really? I already have the sand there waiting, is it that much better to not use it? Thanks

Awesome! I would love to see your written notes and get more knowledge if you're ok with sharing the method, Thanks

Thanks, I'll come back and update you guys once I get everything up and running

Update:
Transferred everything yesterday, tank is up and running beautifully, I love the Red Sea now monitoring the water daily to be safe but so far everything is perfect.
Thank you guys!
