So last week I upgraded my tank from a 120L Boyu tl500 to a RSR 250 g2. I also transferred 10kg of the live rock from the old system, most of the water and the livestock (2 clowns, 2 skunk cleaner, 1 royal gramma and a couple of snails). There are also a smattering of softies on the rocks.
I added 10 kg of live rock (bringing to 20kg total) and 2 bags of Agri-Alive sand, and added a bottle of Dr. Tims for good measure.
Around Wednesday, diatoms started appearing on the sandbed and the "newer" live rock - but this was to be expected. Parameters as of yesterday are:
NO2 - 0 (Salifert)
NO3 - 10 (Salifert)
NH4 - 0 (Salifert)
PO4 - 0 (Hanna)
The new tank is also running a Reefmat, and a RSK-300 Skimmer, which has stopped going mental and is started to produce skimmate, albiet very light in colour.
At this point am I safe to assume that I've managed to avoid another cycle, and am OK to go ahead to start adding more fish, or am I better off waiting till the diatoms clear. Im conscious that the phosphate numbers are not ideal, but have been feeding more heavily than usual for the last week to combat this.
Thanks for any input you may have.
