Hi

I'm new here so be gentle with me !

I am just getting back into the fish keeping hobby after a few years away, I used to keep African Chiclids, but I have now set up my first salt water tank.

I have the fluval flex 123l, (current been running for around 6 months) and have have been bitten by the marine fish / reef keeping bug. I am looking to upgrade a bigger tank and I am considering the following 2 tanks

Aqua one reef sys 326 or Red Sea reefer (either the 250 or 350)

the aqua one tanks seems better value for money but I don't want to buy the AO then regret not spending the extra money for the Red Sea (my LFS seems to have a downer on RS and says they have lots of problems with leaking joints on the glass??)

if I want with the RS I would probably go with the RS lighting, where as the Aqua one I was thinking of 2 x radion xr15

can anyone offer any advice on this or have any good/ bad experiences with any of the above tanks.

also does anyone know if there is a best time to buy i.e Black Friday sales (not sure if the likes of Red Sea or Aqua one offer any savings around Black Friday, the last time I bought a new aquarium Black Friday wasn't really a thing in the UK

I have 2 RedSeas. Quite happy with them - though - to me - the sumps are small. PS welcome to the site - and to Reefing!!

I have a red sea and am happy with it. Got the tank, stand, sump and ato, plumbing etc for like 1300 which I was happy with. I dunno how much they normally go for but I got the older model on sale after the g2 came out at my local shop. My tanks actually the reefer xl 200

The sump is a bit small but is more than functional. Even tho when I look at it now it seems to be more wires and tubing than water

The ReefSys 326 is a very good tank, however bear in mind the stand is made of MDF/particle board and is not tolerant at all of any water left lying around. The ends of the boards are unsealed.

Having said that, you can't beat the price If you're prepared to be carefu. The tank and sump are great.,

Dang tho, upgrading after 6 months? Hope I can hold off for longer than that still paying off my current tank heh. I guess what's sort of nice tho is getting money from selling the old tank when upgrading:)
