I'll be updrading my 20h reef into a 68 gallon half cylinder today after I get off work today.
I've got some extra saltwater ready and will be mixing more. Rock from the larger tank (purchased off craigslist) has been sitting in heated, moving saltwater in the dark.
I'll try to post updates and pictures as things get going. I'll get pictures of the equipment up once I'm home as well.
Went with a jebao dc return pump rated for up to 1000 gph, simplicity aquatics dc240 skimmer, giant eheim heater (can I mount this in the overflow?), and a skimz up22 sump. Lights will be dual AI prime hd's.
One thing I've been wondering about is the way freshwater planted hobbyist slope and tier their substrates and rockwork. Is there a reason we don't see more of that sort of thing in our hobby?
I'm open and any questions, comments, concerns, or feedback as things get going. Happy Saturday!
The current tank:
Where things are headed (don't mind my reflection):
