tank upgrade

I am going from a 5 gallon tank to a 10 gallon tank
so far I have researched and found that i should use the same water and LR but use new sand does that sound right?? Also should i try to use the same filter material from my old tank or will that not make a difference
does anyone have any tips or suggestions? I really don't want to lose my coral

What a coincidence, I too am planning an upgrade of sorts. Only instead of going from a 5 to a 10, I plan to just setup my unused 10 gallon in addition to my current 16 gallon. So I shall be following you to maybe get some tips on how I should set my 10 gallon up.

That said, anyone in #reefsquad have any advice for @rhance ?

You got it keep as much water as u can. Ditch the sand. Get new. And as far as filter media if its clean u can switch it over but if full of detritus i would use new.
