Looking to upgrade from my 120g

So dump question

New tank is going in place of existing tank

I will need to move old tank and set back up to get new tank in place while it cycles?

I’ve done this twice, I was luck enough to have room to move the current tank to a temp spot in the same room. what are you think of next tank size?

Either a 180g or 210g

Have space for 210g and my lfs is essentially telling me they will work with me to make either one work and work on pricing.

Depends if the boss will allow the extra 6" in tank depth, already walking a fine line since its 2ft longer but my blue yellow belly tang needs some space.

Biggest concern is floor support, have been told it would be fine based on current location and how the underside looks and walls it is up against...and going from 4ft to 6ft will be better since it will be spreading the weight across the floor joints...just wanna be smart about the whole thing

That’s was one of my moves I went from 4 foot 120 to 6 foot 180. Depending on what live stock you have you can do it in one move. Have everything ready, take the current one down and move it the place the new on in its place and put everything back. I’m assuming you’re using the same rock and sand.

Using new sand, not planning to use existing sand.

Get some totes, move your livestock and rocks into them. You can keep them in there a day or two just make sure you have some water movement and the temp is good.

When we upgraded tanks we put everything in totes, tossed sand but kept everything else. Had no mini cycle and everything went smoothly. Took us a solid 15 hrs
