Hey everyone ! So on Saturday I’m picking up a second hand aqua reef 195, it’s not currently running, so it’s all clean and ready for a new start.
my question is, can I transfer everything from my 90L into the new tank, including all media from the filter, live rock and water. Not substrate for obvious reasons.
will my tank re enter it’s cycle phase or will it be ok ? The lady I’m buying off has offered to give me even more cycled media from the tank she is currently running along with some cured live rock.

I know it’s best to wait with these things. But I don’t have space to have both of these tanks running at the same time and plan on bucketing the entire live stock of my tank. Which is only a shrimp snail and some soft corals.

my thought is I’m going from a 90L to a 195L so technically would it not be the same as me doing a 50% water change ? But into a new enclosure.
The extra amount of water will be filled with NSW from a reliable source.

Thanks in advance !

I think it should be okay depending on how long the previous tank has been running, otherwise there may not be much bacteria, and you will be adding a lot of new water
You should still bag the livestock from the tank and acclimate, I’ve done the same but a slightly smaller scale and everything has been fine the last 2 months
