Tank went cloudy but is this the culprit??

Hey guys. Over night tank went a little cloudy. Not bad. Have t added any livestock or changed feeding behaviour. However I made once change last week. Sorry Waterbox 65.4 with 4 filter socks. Anyway removed the socks because I hated machine washing them every 2-3 days. Got the kraken reef cups with floss. So my question is. Now because the floss is submerged in the tank for days longer with detritus and poop etc. Is this causing an imbalance? Or am I just having a quick fluke here?

If a lot of food or crud is rotting in the floss (or sock, or whatever), that might lead to a bloom.

Potentially my thought. So I’m not really benefiting from switching from socks to floss? I do feed a lot. Maybe I will lesson. It’s just hard to break their hearts when they see me!

You can just swap out the floss more. I would only think this to be the potential cause if you swap them less than you did your sock.

It could certainly be related to the sock change but another thing to consider is feeding. As you said you haven't changed feeding but sometimes fish don't eat as aggressively for a few days. I guess fish fast as well, so if you are dumping in food from an auto feeder or the like it is possible that too much food went uneaten.

Feeding is by hand. Selcon induced salmon clams scallops and shrimp. Sometimes mixed with brine and for breakfast if I’m home a little bit of roe.

my finding based on picture details is that the tank is awesome and we should not rip clean it, darnit.

A tiny bit of cyano on the rocks. Nothing happens fast I let my nitrates and phosphates go up a little no biggy but I appreciate everyone’s advice and time. This tank has been great Waterbox are top notch

For some reason in my tank, whenever phosphate gets above 0.15, I have persistent bacterial cloudy water. Changing out my GFO makes it crystal clear in 24 hours. Here are my before/after pics taken 1 day apart after changing GFO.
