Trying to convince the misses for permission to get tank #2. Key is keeping cost (relatively down). In short, looking to get a breeder tank from Petco with their $1/gallon sale. 29 gallon tank is 30 1/4” long. I have a stand that’s 30” long (width isn’t an issue). Is 1/8” hang on either side a large enough discrepancy for long-term issues?

Thanks

Glass isnt like acrylic not every square inch needs to be supported to maintain structural integrity. As long as the tank sits evenly across the frame, you should be fine. Another option would be a piece of plywood over the stand. Ive done this with hospital tanks on wire shelving units.
As long as like above the stand is rated for the weight of the tank.

First stand I was thinking wouldn’t hold 200 lbs but we’ve got a five-foot long, solid wood (Amish-made, really nice quality) dresser that we can put it on.
