Tankless Water Heater to RODI

Hi guys,

Super excited to finally get back into the hobby. Unfortunately we do not have room for the rodi in the laundry room so I am trying to find a way to connect to the hot water heater in the garage. It looks like the pvc is the drain and the blue on right is cold water. I was wondering can I connect directly to the isolation valve above the blue handle or would I need to buy a T and connect from silver flexible to bronze tubing??

If it was me, as that's flex tubing, I would buy a fitting to go in between the flex and the valve that would allow me to run a line to the RODI unit. Even a tee with a spigot on it, so you have a way to shut off that feed would work. You would then just use the garden hose adaptor to connect it. Or you could get a fitting that allowed connection of a push lock fitting and connect that via normal 1/4" line to the rodi.

Tons of options with that setup, as it is super easy to add to.

Either way you do it, I would suggest some form of a shut off valve right at where you tee into the cold water feed. Better to have one than not.

I run mine from the cold side service valve on my tankless water heater. The only slight disadvantage is that I have to unhook it the once or so a year that I descale my water heater.

Awesome! Thanks so much! I think I will just buy a splitter with an on/off valve and run off the service valve. I already have the waterhose to ro connection.

I didn’t even split mine. I just connected it straight to the service valve and I use the shutoff on the service valve to turn it on/off.
