I busy bought them this winter...where would I find the expiration date or mfg date?
Your plunger says its a old version and generally you find the expiry at the behind of the kit box.

Read that awhile back and yes thats how you read a syringe. But do you understand the logic of adding that small protrusion in front of the plunger. If take a closer look it goes in the small nozzle of the syringe. Now when you dip the syringe in liquid and draw you dont have air bubble coming out from that nozzle which generally is quite helpful.

It is highly possible that Amazon gave you a bad kit, maybe on their shelves at that local distributor found behind the rack somewhere lol
Will be ordering from brs from now on....if I got the air bubble out do you think it would be more accurate?

Earlier there used to be gap between the liquid and plunger but with this new one there is almost no gap between them.

There is still supposed to be a gap between the plunger and the solution. That's the purpose of the plastic pointy tip. It displaces that much solution.

So do you pull up to the end of that tip or to that part I'm pulling up to now?

There must be a hairline crack or something allowing it to fill completely. Could the problem be solved now?!

There is still a bubble on the top every time

Is the bubble at least .2 ml? The bottom of the plunger should be and 1 ml and the solution at .8 ml.

So last night I fed my tank AF power food, how do I know it's being beneficial? I plan on doseing it 2-3 times a week

Hmmm...thats a good question but I dont know...lol. I think you should know best by looking at your corals. If they look healthy and excited (polyp extended) then its working. But it will take at least few weeks before you know.

I've been dosing the ABEV for the past 2 wks and it looks like my acros that turned dark/brown are starting to flouresce again! Its was hardly noticeable 2 days ago and thought it was just my eyes wanting to see it but last night I see it a little more :) I did switch to AF reef salt but have only done one 12% water change so and going to do another this wknd.

yup thats the normal range and i have never found mine beyond 1350ppm and I am using them since over an year.
Found a series of salt mix tests on another forum and the AF reef salt was 1500+ from both home test kits and triton. AF Probiotic was significantly less Mg.

Still not entirely clear what the dangers (if any) of elevated Mg.
