Only thing is. I tested before water change and was at 7.8 then I did 2 water changes amd now at 5?

The whole mag issue with aquaforest reef salt amd just tested my tank last night and got an alk of 5....right before water changes it was at 7.8
Suggestion, go out and get a new salilfert test kit and compare. As I have suggested the syringes are no good and you need new syringes.

How about your Alk? The new syringes will be nice, you will be able to read them and draw the titrates correctly.;)

There is 100 in the box, and they are cheap enough that you can toss them now when the print start warning off. I have a box of the 1ml/cc and 10cc

Correction....6.7....this is really wierd

Sounds like whatever your using to check your alkalinity is not very reliable. I'd get a different kit.... something's definitely not right with it.
