I had been dealing with Cyano and after reading different threads were other had cyano when using pro bio s and after trying many other option dropping the Pro bio s in my system helped a great deal.

I know many reefers find it works wonders for their particular systems nutrient management but like you it just didn't mesh with my water keeping obviously. Have you tried the pro bio F at all, pretty sure it's what's added to the reef salt to make it probiotic salt but who knows.

Odd, I don't remember seeing any cyano but I do remember things looked a bit funky when I went over 10 drops per day.

Just realized i've been hogging the thread - sorry lol. I will let everyone else have a go for a change and share their opinions.

Adding zinc, manganese and boron to the micro elements would make life a lot easier for those of us who don't wish to use the generalized component strong element dosing method Sever. There's no rush, just get it done by xmas mate or i'm sending you the freight bill for my next Triton order from Germany....................

I have not tried the Pro Bio F yet, I have had really good results with the Life bio fil and a small amount of the Zeomix keeping my nitrates under control and the phosphate minus for the phosphates of course

I have a 300 litre LPS/Softy system which has been running for approx 7 months
Current stocklist:
2 x clowns
1 x yellow tang
1 x flame angel
1 x sixline wrasse
1 x fire gody

1 month ago i purchased a AF reactor and added Zeo mix,phos - and carbon
i also add 3 drops of Pro Bio s and -NP pro each day
as well as adding in Amino, Vitality and Energy in the evening.

Since adding the reactor in 1 month ago my system started to have a diatom outbreak agian, is this normal?
and my last question am i required to have the Zeo mix in the rector with this small stoked tank or should i only be running the Phos Minus and Carbon?
Nitrate sitting at 2-5 and Phos is at 0.00

As far as diatoms go I'd be checking my source water for silicates. My suggestion would be to get an ICP test of your RODI water and your tank water.

Zeomix is always optional and it's very good at removing ammonia. With a lightly stocked tank IMHO it's not required. All of this depends on your intention.

If you check out the description of Zeomix it's real purpose and intention is UNLS. UNLS systems are predominantly SPS heavy systems. Soft corals and LPS corals need higher nutrients over all than a SPS dominant tank.

+1 diatoms also like to feed on phosphates besides silica. What are you testing phosphates with, meaning kit/test?

If you have softy and lps, I would not recommend adding zeomix as you can strip the water real fast. Like reefkeeper said softy and lps like a litttle richer water , you would use zeomix on a sps tank over mixed softy. Not saying you can't or should not but in this case your corals might not like the water super clean.

is it still a good idea to add the Prob Bio S and -NP Pro in the morning?

and the adding of Amino, Vitality and Energy - 3 drops of each bottle at night
while missing every 4th day to not overload the system? or should i cut it back
