Alright so if I have reactor as well as some magnesium in it (I’ll stop adding magnesium if the AF products contains it), I should add 3+? My tank (300g)is mostly sps. Just want to make sure before I purchase and overdose on something. Looks like I should be adding 275ml of it daily?

That's if you are purchasing the premix. Start off with 40ml and test you Mg levels and adjust higher or lower.

No, if your media dont contain anything else other than Ca and Mg then you need just need component A,B and C.

I was reading that you shouldn't vodka dose using aqua forest probiotic stuff. If I were to use aqua forest could I use the none probiotic salt, and use component 1,2,3 and still be ok with vodka dosing?

Also other af products I am looking at using:
- af amino mix
- af vitality
- af energy

These don't really come under the probiotic so they should also be ok with vodka dosing?

You can definitely do that if you want to go with non-probiotic based way. For amino, vitality and energy I will suggest only dose them if you run a ultra low nutrient system otherwise they will increase your nutrient levels. They dont come under direct probiotic method but are designed to work in combination with probiotic method.

That is were the NP pro comes in, this is a carbon base dose. It can be used with both the probiotic and reefsalt.

Yeah, I'd still rather use vodka well technically vinegar. It's been amazing for me in the past and I have no real want or desire to change from using it as carbon dosing. But the ballin method of the aqua forest products really intrigues me. And I do run ULNS's dosing amino acids and started with specific trace elements but interested in trying the af products in that regard

If you want to use vodka dosing (which is carbon dosing) Aquaforest don't recommend to do it with probiotic and -Nppro because you will double dose carbon and its difficult to control that. If you are experience reefer and you can observe your tank and react you can do it but with care.
As for AF Vitality, Energy, Amino it could be dosed in every tank where you have corals... but again you should check your parameters and observe. If your biomass of corals will be relatively small do the volume of water you can overdose if you will dose as recommend. I dose all AF foods , Vit and Amino and I don't have ULNS and all is perfect.

Thank you I understand now, it is basically saying they can't approve it because it's not theirs.

Sorry one more question and I appreciate the responses, I'm a big fan of uv sterilizers. I couldn't find any info on if that would affect the probiotic salt or not

AF doesn't recommend UV sterilisers but its still acceptable according to their guideline.

You will add probiotic bacteria and kill them (or any other bacteria) with UV light... of course some of the bacteria will settle on the rocks , sand etc but all that will pass through the UV will be killed

I really like using the reef salt and the 1+2+3+ phosphate minus, and the life bio fil. I have not dosed carbon for over a year using the life bio fil

I use reef salt, component 1+2+3+, carbon, zeo, life biofil and lifesource. I rarely dose carbon too. My nutrient stays super low without even using the carbon dosing.
