I use reef salt, component 1+2+3+, carbon, zeo, life biofil and lifesource. I rarely dose carbon too. My nutrient stays super low without even using the carbon dosing.
so from what i understand you use np pro and bio s as needed meaning when your nitrates/phosphates start getting out of wack?

Yes and No, for continued use of Probiotic Method, you would use NP Pro and Pro Bio S daily. In this method, you can use Zeo Mix if necessary, great for higher fish populations and for heavy feedings. Many stack AF Zeo Mix, AF Carbon, and AF Phosphate Minus, in that order, from bottom to top of the reactor, this is AF Stack Method. Also, you can implement Life Bio Fil as a media to further expand your bio filtration capacity. Think of NP Pro as a food source to help feed bacteria, and Pro Bio S is a proprietary bacteria strain/s. Essentially bacteria proliferate, die and end up incorporating nitrate and phosphate into organic waste, which is removed via skimmer.

More and more tanks based on our products. Stunning!

I am currently on AF for about 2 weeks. I have a 100 gallon mixed sps/lps tank. I am running Life Bio in a reactor and phos minus and carbon is a separate reactor. I do use socks and change then every 2-3 days as needed. Here is what I am using:

How can I lower Nitrates so they are in between 3-5 ?

Fritz salt - Changing to AF Reef Salt next week
NP Pro (3 drops daily)
Bio S (3 drops daily)
Life Bio
Phos minus
Carbon

ALK - 7.90
Cal - 475
Mag - 1470
Phosphates- 0.04
PH - 7.85

It takes some time before your NO3 and PO4 actually drops. Possibly couple of months. Your parameters look good otherwise.

will adding zeo mix help lower nitrates?

Yes but be careful, keep the output effluent at a low value and slowly ramp as you watch the corals reaction and test results. This has worked well for me. I stack Zeo Mix, then AF Carbon, the AF Phosphate Minus to keep UNLS values. .25 NO3 and 0.00 PO4, with heavy feedings and coral supplements. Cheers

Yes as zeo is supposed to absorb the ammonia the source of NO3. But it will also absorb some of your elements. So, go slow and wait.
I also want to check on dosing mag, I am currently dosing equal parts of cal and alk but with mag being 1470, I am not dosing anything for mag. Should I wait till I see mag go down or dose equal of alk, cal and mag?

I will start equal dosing of all 3 components and test after 1 week to get a feeling.

Wow gorgeous reefs and results!

Good night all. I have a 150g tank and a 36g sump but with my aquascape and equipment my total water volume is 148g-150g. I recently did a water change and tested my alk 24hr later and was 7.9dkh. I then continued to test my alk daily and i dropped to 7.8dkh exactly 1 week later. I recently bought a doser and the Aquaforest Components 123. What amount should i start to dose daily to maintain the 7.9 to 8.0dkh level? Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

You can use AF calculator to calculate how much you will need do dose

Here you will find more information about component 123+ with a video
